Jin is a straightlaced, honest cop who mourns the tragic loss of a beloved family member. He's willing to go against his own moral convictions to find the killer.
A member of the Liu Group who works as a Hitman and the Head of the Liu Family's "Guard Dog". He's deeply loyal to his Master Liu Wei Long, as he had saved Clay when he was a homeless teenager.
Clay's cheerful sassy attitude hides a dark, traumatic past that still haunts him to this day. A recovered addict.
Clay's friend and a sex worker. Theo had a past history with the Liu Group, a history they would rather bury. Originally from South Korea, Theo and their family moved to Taiwan over a decade ago. After his father passed away, Theo has worked very hard to take care of their family.
Theo wants nothing more but to be able to live in peace, yet the past seems to find its way to back to them...
Jin's colleague and friend. Reed was born in Taiwan, moved to USA with his family as a kid, until he moved back to Taiwan as an adult. He's a bit rough around the edges.
As he lived most of his life in America, he found it difficult to adjust life in Taiwan at first. Jin helped him adapt to his new life when he joined the force. They become quite close.
Has a pet dog named Teddy.
The CEO and Head of the wealthy and influential Liu Family, as well as Clay's Master.
He's well known for his cool head, savvy business sense, and icy disposition. As the CEO, he works diligently to
steer the Liu Family away from its gangster past.
All of his children have different mothers.
The eldest of the Liu siblings.
Lan Shui is lauded as the prodigious son of the Liu Conglomerate, due to his excellent academic achievements and involvement in the family business since he graduated from highschool. He would've been an ideal heir if not
for his fiery temper.
The middle child of the Liu Siblings.
Born from a sex worker mother, Shu Fen had a
tough childhood. He joined the Liu Family as a teen after his mother passed away. Despite living in comfort now, he can't seem to get rid of his penchant for trouble-making, thus
regarded as the Black Sheep of the family.
The youngest of the Liu siblings.
When he was born, his mother gave up custody to his birth father. He grew up a lonely child who clings to Lan Shui, the only family member who pays him any attention.
While not academically gifted, he shows talent in music and art.
Theo's mother. Mrs. Park has been staying in the hospital for months, due to her terminal illnesses.
After Reed meet her in the hospital by coincidence, they formed a
friendship as fellow
patients. She holds a deep sense of guilt for being a financial burden to Theo.
Clay's friend. A freelance Hacker and Cafe Owner, she moved from Indonesia to Taiwan to live with her girlfriend, Biyu. Her main income comes from her job as a freelance programmer and hacker.
Occasionally, Clay hires her for hacking jobs, otherwise she's not directly related to the Liu Group.
Jin's older cousin and former mentor, a Detective.
Jin and Hanfeng were very close, as they grew up together in their hometown. Jin became a cop to follow Hanfeng's footsteps. His tragic death and the lack of evidence spurred Jin to abandon conventional methods in order to find the killer.
Hanfeng's wife/widow, a Real Estate Attorney.
She goes back to working full time after Hanfeng's passing, in order to support their young daughter.
A cheerful lady who in spite of the tragic loss of her husband,
overcomes her grief for her child's sake.
Clay's subordinate. Lovingly nicknamed "PeiPei" by Clay.
In the past, Clay helped settle his debts with vicious loan sharks. Pei joined the Liu Group to serve Clay in return for saving him.
He remains one of Clay's most loyal allies.
Clay's subordinate. Lovingly nicknamed "Ah-Wei" by Clay.
Zhou Wei is a long time member of the Liu Group, who works under Clay for the last 5 years.
A man of few words, he always wears sunglasses. He and his ex-wife share custody of their young son.
Jin and Reed's colleague. She used to be mentored by Hanfeng.
After Jin asked for her help to get certain documents from the Archive room, she starts helping with the
investigation... though she seems to have her own mysterious agenda.
Reed's older sister.
She moved back to Taiwan earlier than Reed did, as she felt she didn't fit in. Reed lived with her for a few months, but soon moved out once he could afford his own place.
Tiffany looks after Reed in place of their parents, who still live in USA. Adores Teddy.
Jin's ex-boyfriend, works as a Forensic Scientist for the police.
Donghai began cheating on Jin when their relationship turned rocky due to Jin's depression and grief over the tragic death of
Hanfeng. Eventually, they broke up.
Donghai refused to let go of Jin at first, but seems to have given up after Clay posed as Jin's new boyfriend.
A murdered victim that kickstarted the drug trafficking investigation, which Jin worked on.
Xiaosi was a poor university student who started selling drugs to pay for his tuitions, because his family refused to support his education.
He and Kwon Gi-Hun had a close relationship that was suspected to be romantic.
An international exchange student from South Korea.
When his father found out he was gay, his mother sent him to Taiwan to avoid his father's wrath. There, he met Yang Xiaosi and they became very close.
After he learned of Xiaosi's death, he was devastated. The grief caused him to harm others... and himself.
A fellow drug dealer who admitted to murdering Yang Xiaosi with the help of his childhood friend, Peng Zihan.
The fact that he had no relations or a legitimate motivation prior to killing Yang Xiaosi, suggests that a third party compelled him to commit the deed.
Jin's younger brother and the 2nd son.
A no-nonsense type of guy, he's grown to love the farm life he was raised in. His dad was so relieved when Hyun Joo agreed to inherit the family farm, since Jin chose to become a cop instead.
He acts as the middle man between his siblings and their parents, and steps in should any argument or
problem arise.
Jin's youngest brother, and the 3rd son.
Yo Jun has a big age gap between him and Jin, which made him very close to his oldest brother, who frequently babysat him when their parents were busy with the farm. As the result of being the pampered youngest of the family, Yo Jun is quite spoiled and selfish.
Yo Jun is currently studying to become an interior designer.
Jin's best friend and roommate. A freelance photographer.
Dan and Jin met because their parents wanted their kids to befriend fellow Korean descendants (Jin's dad is Korean), thus they become fast friends in highschool. They bonded over the fact they were both secretly gay. Whereas Jin's family eventually accepted Jin's orientation, Dan's parents disowned him after he came out.
